No... the system has a built-in card reader that is properly recognized in Device Manager. What is strange is that two days ago when I opened Device Manager, there was a category for "Storage Volume". Under that category there were seven (7) instances of "Unknown device" and five (5) instances of "Generic volume".

DMA error when update Freebsd
It is just an "unknown" device that is causing the "trouble". I bought the PC 2nd hand, HD was damaged, so no imaging possible. The PC works fine , without any further problems, just that little irritating question mark in the device manager that in fact does not harm proper operation at all.
